Taste of victory: Kazakhstan and Malaysia triumph
The last round is ahead! Now we all finally can take a deep breath out. The third round was a tournament of cases rolled up by Changellenge. Teams had to cope with a real case and create a presentation.
Kazakhstan and Malaysia were the most successful during this part of the Olympiad and faced in the final competition. In the end, Malaysia won. That is what participants think about this hard contest.
Nicole, the head of Malaysia team:
I think that the Olympiad is great, really. I see so many countries and it’s kind of experience for me. The test that was giving to us was pretty surprising (very hard!). But I think it’s a great way to challenge myself to push the envelope. I am satisfied with the result, but I think I can do slightly better.
Honestly, I thought that Kazakhstan would win. They had so much ideas and technical terms that I haven’t learnt before. In their presentation there were things that we actually should learn.
I think that the reason for our victory is that our case is unique and suitable for the youth. Also we have a macro research aimed at young people.
Anel from Kazakhstan:
My legs are still shaking and my heart is beating. I was very worried, because we didn’t sleep all night preparing the presentation. But I think it was worth it. We didn’t win but became finalists, which is also good, of course. I also want to convey our warm feelings to Malaysia: these guys are very friendly and nice. Their case was creative, I would never come up with something like this. They really deserve the victory.
Of course, there were difficulties during the Olympics. Not only the tasks themselves, but also communication into the team, interaction. Sometimes it is difficult to come to an agreement. It took us a long time. But still the most vivid impression is our small victory. Honestly we did not expect that. We even changed our clothes from official to ordinary ones, because we didn’t think that we would have to go on the stage.
